Our Fitzroy Doncaster 3rd XI had plenty to celebrate after they were too good for Melbourne University 3rd XI with a quality team effort.
Melbourne University 3rd XI batted first and reached 10/177 from 41.3 overs. Connor Hastings top-scored for our opponents with 38. Hugo Bienvenu added 35 for the visitors. With the ball, Lachlan Rees did the damage, claiming two for 27 off seven overs. Lachlan Green chipped in with two for 33.
In reply, the side reached the target at 3/179 in 39.4 overs. Fifty for Max Bradley, who finished with 58 not out off 61 balls. Angus Roach brought up a stylish half-century, finishing with 51 off 91 balls.
It was a terrific all-round effort, with contributions from right through the line-up. The winning run now stretches to seven games.
