Good news from our Fitzroy Doncaster 2nd XI, who knocked over Footscray 2nd XI on Saturday in Kookaburra Men's Premier.
Footscray 2nd XI batted first and reached 7/190 from 50 overs. Credit to Max Hatzoglou, who made a century (102) for the hosts. Braden Taeuber returned figures of two for 24 off nine overs.
In reply, the team reached the target at 5/191 in 44 overs. A classy 77 not out off 97 balls from Mark Phelan was the highlight. Lishan De Silva also got among the runs with 37 off 66 balls.
It was a cracking all-round effort, with contributions from right through the line-up. It's seven wins on the bounce. Congratulations to all involved.
